Bridge Flights

A couples' bridge flight was begun in October 1966. In 1968 this event was added to the Ways and Means Committee as a small fund raiser. There were three bridge flights that year. Bernadine Sloan was the first chairman and served in this capacity until 1972. Over the years the groups have had ladies' bridge and couples' bridge. In June at the end of each year's bridge flights there is a culminating dinner or party for all the participants to award the prizes for the year. In 1999 the couples' group was disbanded due to lack of interest, but the ladies' group is still active. Since 1999 Fran Sawaya has been the chair of this group.
